In partnership with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy, RedR and Pearson Education, the Bioforce Institute will open in November the future reference centre for quality in learning and competency assessment.

Objective: a faster, more effective and efficient humanitarian response with increased local participation and ownership, delivered by better trained and recognised aid workers.

In direct line with an initiative in which the Bioforce Institute has been involved for 5 years (Humanitarian Passport Initiative), this centre, supported by the Humanitarian Leadership Academy for a 2 year-term, will build the framework that will ensure access to quality learning and competency recognition for humanitarian practitioners. Two major outputs are to be developed to help build this framework: - A quality standard for learning - A quality standard for assessment Both standards will be delivered with quality assurance mechanisms and support resources and services. The Centre partners RedR is an international humanitarian NGO which supports aid organisations and other humanitarian actors across the world by developing skills and providing expertise Pearson Education is an education assessment centre and publishing house The Humanitarian Leadership Academy is a global learning initiative set up to facilitate partnerships and collaborative opportunities to enable people to prepare for and respond to crises in their own countries.
